Aviation in 1952: Commercial Aviation (Air Freight)

An 80-page report, Air Cargo Trends, released by the Lockheed Corp., predicted that air freight would increase to the point where it would constitute the major factor in airline growth. Projecting present growth curves through several future years, the authors indicate that, by 1958, 36 per cent of domestic airline revenues, or about $390,000,000, will be derived from air freight, air express, and air mail, and $175,000,000 of this will be from air freight.
